What you can be
Volunteer Mentor
Junior Mentor
Support a small group of students as they plan, build, and complete engineering projects. Mentors meet with students regularly, review their work, help them troubleshoot challenges, and guide them toward making their own technical and design decisions.
Instructor
Senior Instructor
Teach foundational programming, electronics, CAD, and engineering concepts to Explorer-tier students. Instructors lead structured lessons and hands-on activities while helping students build the skills and confidence needed for more advanced projects.
Lead Instructor
Lead Instructor
Oversee instruction for a student cohort and ensure lessons are delivered consistently across the program. Lead Instructors prepare the teaching team, coordinate weekly lesson plans, support instructors and mentors, track student progress, and identify areas where the curriculum should improve.
Communications
Communications Associate
Manage how CurioLab communicates with families, university communities, partners, and the public. This role supports newsletters, social media, program updates, recruitment materials, event communications, and stories that document student and team accomplishments.
Finance
Staff
Maintain CurioLab's financial records and support responsible budgeting across the organization. This role tracks income and expenses, prepares budgets, processes reimbursements, supports grant reporting, and helps leadership understand the financial needs of each program and chapter.
Partnerships
Staff
Develop relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, sponsors, and participating families. This role identifies potential partners, coordinates outreach and meetings, prepares partnership materials, and helps turn initial conversations into lasting program and funding relationships.
Operations
Staff
Coordinate the systems and logistics that allow CurioLab programs to run reliably each week. This includes scheduling, room reservations, attendance, enrollment, family communication, event planning, supplies, team coordination, and preparation for each program session.
Development
Staff
Build and maintain CurioLab's website, application systems, internal tools, and program technology. Developers improve the digital experience for families and staff, support secure data collection, automate repetitive administrative work, and create tools that help chapters manage students, mentors, attendance, and program delivery.
